I’m so excited for this new blog series specifically for high school seniors!! Have you wondered what college is going to be like? Especially if you’re going to be moving and living on campus? Dorms, sororities, homework, dating….? Well I’m so happy to introduce Braelyn, a Junior at UofA. I took Braelyn’s high school senior pictures a few years back and now she will be talking about and answering all the questions that go along with the next stage of school life! You won’t want to miss these posts! So without further ado… here’s a little bit more about Braelyn in her own words:
“Hello high school seniors! My name is Braelyn Smith and I will be writing a few blog posts about life in college and how to have a great college experience. I am a junior who is studying Photography and German at the University of Arizona. I am involved in many different things on campus, such as Students for Sustainability, VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood, and the College of Humanities Ambassador program. I am also a member of Delta Delta Delta, one of the 12 sororities we have on the UA campus. I am very excited to be writing for Stacey’s blog because only 3 short years ago, I was a high school senior just like you, who was nervous to go to college and had no idea what to expect. Each post will include insights about college that I have learned, things that I wish somebody would have told me when I was a senior in high school, and other things that every college freshman needs to know.
A little bit more about me, I graduated from Williams Field High School in 2011, with my boyfriend of two years at the time who also goes to UA. I chose to stay in state for college because I wanted to be close to home, and I didn’t want to pay the pricey out of state tuition. The reason I picked the University of Arizona is because of the beautiful campus, the high levels of school spirit, the great sports teams, and because the first time I visited the campus I immediately knew that it was the school I was going to go to.
Although I have had many struggles in college, I could not be happier with my overall experience thus far. Regardless of what college you’ll chose, hopefully I will be able to give you some insight on how to make the most of your college experience. If you have any requests for blog posts, or any questions about college life, feel free to email Stacey (stacey@femforceshoots.com) and she’ll pass the request on to me!” — Braelyn
Stay tuned for the next post– the benefits and downsides of getting involved in extra curricular activities!
And because no post is complete without pictures, I just have to post some of my favorite images of Braelyn from our recent shoot out in the desert!
