Dear baby girl,
You are being born into a tough world. You’re being born into a society that places pressure on us (girls and women) to look a certain way and act a certain way to be accepted, to be viewed as beautiful/sexy/hot. As hard as I will try to shield you from these false standards, you will be surrounded by them whether I like it or not! As you grow up and get older, there’s a really good chance you will be objectified and judged based on how you look. I absolutely hate it, but it’s the truth. I want you to always remember that you are not an object made just for man’s pleasure and remember that you are loved and valued by not only your family, but by the creator of this world! I pray that will you learn and know early on that God’s opinion of you is the only opinion that matters; the only approval you should be seeking. And that seeking first his kingdom should always be top priority in life. I pray that you will learn early on about having a healthy body image, knowing your value comes from something deeper than looks. I pray your relationship with food and exercise will be a healthy one and that I can demonstrate and be a good example to you. I pray that you will be strong and confident yet gentle and calm. You are already loved so much and I can’t wait to meet you!
