Bathroom Re-do | Industrial Farmhouse Bathroom

July 5, 2016

When we first moved into our home, I painted our guest bathroom yellow.  I did the yellow/gray theme in here.  It was cute for a while.  But since I have started to re-decorate my house in an Industrial Farmhouse Style, this bathroom has been screaming at me for a re-do!

So here is the before:

And here is the After:

I painted the yellow walls white.  I was a little hesitant about going all white because I love depth and texture.  But the white makes this small room feel bigger and so much more clean.  I knew I had to add some metal and wooden accents to help offset the white.

I love this towel rack! It’s hard to tell with the towels hanging, but they are actually hanging on industrial pipes that are attached to the wood!

I painted the cabinets a light gray color and I love how it completely makes the area feel updated. I added some light gray towels to match the cabinets and tie in a touch of color.

I also made a wooden frame for the mirror.  I got the wood from home depot, had them cut it to the length I wanted for the top/bottom and sides.  I then used my mitre box and had saw and cut the 45 degree angles…. yes a hand saw- took a little bit of time!  Then I glued the edges together with wood glue.  When I went to hang it, I was little hesitant to glue it to the mirror in case I wanted to take it down or I didn’t like it.  So I ended up using heavy duty Command Strips!  So far so good.  Note: make sure that your wood isn’t warped in any way!
