Brooke & Rayom | Backyard Wedding

What an amazing {and freezing} day for Brooke and Rayom to get married!!  This beautiful and intimate backyard wedding was perfect to celebrate the love these two have for each other and for the Lord.
Brooke and Rayom braved the cold weather effortlessly and with unending smiles.  It was a blessed day, and I’m thrilled they chose me to capture it!

They wanted to keep their wedding simple and meaningful, free from the traditional wedding frills.  Instead of cake, they served these yummy Brazilian treats representing Rayom’s heritage.

The centerpieces on the tables were ornate African women-representing Brooke’s heart for missions in Africa.

Mother and daughter 🙂

Even though it was freezing, Brooke didn’t wear “traditional” shoes!  She wore beautiful jewels on her feet!  How awesome is that?!

Brooke and Rayom wanted to pray together before the ceremony started, but they didn’t want to see each other-so in comes the blindfold!  Rayom’s best man is getting it tied up and ready.

Rayom’s sister and best man led him over to where Brooke was so they could pray.

After the prayer, Rayom wasn’t sure what to do or where to go since he couldn’t see anything.  It made for a great laugh!

The first time Brooke’s father saw her in her dress!

Priceless

With her mom wiping tears of joy, Brooke looked at the time and got excited that it was almost “Go Time”!

Rayom is seeing his bride for the first time!

“And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him–a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” –Ecclesiastes 4:12
Brooke and Rayom each took turns braiding the 3 cords together to represent their union together with God.

I usually don’t put any formal family pictures in the blog post, but I couldn’t resist this one…. Like mother, like daughter!!

Brooke and Rayom, you are a beautiful couple, and I can’t wait to see how the Lord uses your lives and marriage for His glory!!
