Jamie & Jake | Soho 63 Wedding | Stacey Poterson Photography Blog

It was a bright and sunny day in Arizona for Jamie and Jake’s wedding. We started at The San Marcos Hotel for preparations. Jamie slipped into her dress and Jake dressed in his suit. Then we headed over to St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Phoenix. If you’ve never seen a Serbian wedding ceremony, scroll down! There are neat traditions involved. After Jamie and Jake were officially married we headed over to Soho 63 for the reception.

If I had one word to describe Jamie and Jake’s wedding day, it would be perfect. Although, I can’t pin point exactly what it was that made it perfect… Maybe it was the way Jamie’s eyes welled up with tears when she saw her dad for the first time that day. And the way she teared up again at the reception when they danced their Father/Daughter dance. Maybe it was the way Jake was always willing to take pictures outside, even though he was wearing a suit in 105 degree weather… and he did with a smile on his face. Maybe it was the way Jamie was concerned with the well being of everyone around her (including my pregnant self) even though this was her big day. Maybe it was the fact that even though it was hot, hot, hot, I never once saw a negative attitude come from Jamie and Jake. In fact, they joked and laughed about the heat! Maybe it was all the beautiful details and how they came together flawlessly (and photographed so beautifully)! Maybe it’s because Jamie and Jake are not only laid back and relaxed, but they were punctual as well- which always makes the timeline of the day less stressful! Or maybe it’s just because Jamie and Jake are perfect for each other. When you see them interact, you’ll easily see why. Their personalities mesh so well together. They are best friends who have mutual respect for each other and I know that will be a foundation their marriage will grow upon in the upcoming years!
