The DeCicco Family!

I first met Amber and Michael at a Show-it get together.  (Show-it is an amazing company that I use to easily custom design my website).  I met them when I was 5 months pregnant, and thanks to Facebook we were able to stay in touch!  Amber doesn’t know this, but she impacted the way I view my business and the talents God gave me.  She cause a paradigm shift in my thinking….

After Asher was born, Amber emailed me out of the blue offering to take our first family photos (check them out Inspire Photographers)!  She knew how exhausting it can be having a newborn, and the thought of setting up a trip-pod, putting the timer on your camera, and running to get in the pictures so that you can have family pictures was just not something I was up for.

So when I got that email, I was excited!  But I couldn’t help thinking that we didn’t really have the funds to pay someone for pictures at that time, so I would have to decline her offer….BUT she went on to say she wanted to do this for us for free!  Wait…What?!?  Someone was wanting to give of their time and talents with nothing coming to them in return?  I was so humbled by her gesture to bless us.  I know the time it takes to shoot and edit a session and I never imagined that would be something someone would be so willing to freely give.

After I got that email, my thought process changed.  The paradigm shift came when I realized God gave me a gift and it’s a gift that I can use to bless others, just like Amber used her gift to bless us.  It’s so easy to get caught up in ourselves and making sure we get what’s “rightfully” ours, but you never know what a little gesture of giving of your time and talents can do for someone.  God used Amber in a huge way and she probably didn’t even know it…until now 🙂  Thank you Amber for your generosity and just being yourself.  God used you to teach me a valuable lesson 🙂

This family is sooo adorable!!  3 boys!  How fun is that?!

Jacob (“the runner”), Micah & Elijah… you’ll see what I mean by “the runner”….

In order to get the shot below…

We got this progression of shots first… notice Jacob running off hehe??

Before we got this shot…

We got this one….makes me laugh!

To keep Jacob from running, she had to hold him tight!

Sweet couple!

Before we got this picture…

We got this one!

“The Runner” took off after we got the shot, so we decided to get some of just mom and dad.

He’s back!  And guess what he is doing….running!

A change of clothes and we’re still running after Jacob!  We were just about out of light, so these few pictures were shot at ISO 1000 and 2000 (the 5dMark2 is amazing when it comes to grain with high iso’s!)

We gave him a leaf-that helped him stay still for a little bit.

And he’s off again!!!

But we got this cute one of them in their glasses!

So adorable!

Nothing like the bond of a father and son.

I had a great time with this family even though I got a great work out chasing Jacob.  But to make up for it he gave me lots of hugs.  This whole family is so sweet!
